Since the days are getting shorter, their are plenty of opportunities for movie nights!! We love popcorn! I think this was one of the nights Camille was babysitting while Jared and I were at YM/YW's. She is the greatest babysitter. We've waited for this day for a long time:)
In November, Garet, Jared, and I didn't eat sugar. (Well we ended before Thanksgiving). One night Camille wanted to make a treat, so she made this cute turkey out of apples and oranges. So clever!

She loves her "babies". It is so fun to have a girl again!
We went on our Pre-Thanksgiving trip to Price this year. You might say, "What's in Price?" Turns out their is quite a bit of history in that area. We were headed to Moab, when Jared was out numbered on the vote. Nobody was in the mood to drive two more hours, only to drive three more hours tomorrow to get to G & G's house....so we cancelled our hotel in Moab and found one in Price.
We went to the Helper Railroad and Mining Museum. It is in an old hotel and has some really neat things in it. We found this really old potty chair in the children's room. I love the bar across the front so they can't get off right away.
Next stop Spring Canyon. We were driving up to see some old ruins and ran into snow. Luckily we had all the snow gear and sleds, so Jared pulled the kids behind the truck. Then we got the bikes out and they rode down the canyon on the paved trail.
We found these old mining railroad tracks and the kids were collecting all the old railroad spikes.
We went to dinner and then hit the hotel pool, which was a little cold....and the hot tub was broken, but the kids didn't mind one bit. I tried to do a few little swimming lessons, but then I had to get out because it was too cold.
We couldn't get Garet to sit still long enough for a picture. He was constantly getting out and jumping off the side.
Dallin loved his little spot right on the stairs.

Paige swam the first night and had a good time, but she woke up with a runny nose, so we decided to have her play with Daddy instead of swim.
She didn't even whine to get in the water. Good little girl.
After we convinced the kids to get out of the pool, we headed to the Dinosaur/Archaeology Museum in Price. It was pretty good. They are redoing a few displays on the Dinosaur side, but their was plenty to look at. We spent a couple hours and then headed to Nine Mile Canyon.
If you've never been there, you should go. It is full of Indian pictographs. Jared's family has been going there for years, but it recently became more popular in the news and such. So now it is a paved road almost the entire way. I think almost every kids had a pouty moment during this day. Everyone was excited to go to Grandma's house, but also wanted to do other things. It was kind of a long day.

The excitement doesn't end here....Grandpa got a new side by side! The kids were so excited to go for a ride. They all piled in on Thanksgiving morning and came back with a bloody chin Dallin. They went over a bump and he hit is chin on something. It was a pretty deep gash, but he wasn't even crying. We decided we better take him to get stitches. Grandpa and I headed to Roosevelt to the ER, since nothing else was open.
Three stitches later he was good as new. He was a trooper through the whole thing.
We even made it home in time for the "Feast". I love Thanksgiving! It is my favorite holiday (maybe because my birthday is right after) or good food, family, and gratitude for everything we have...what more could we want.
Turkey (brined by Nate), homemade cranberry relish, stuffing, potatoes & gravy, Yams, Raspberry walnut jello, rolls, veggie tray and dip, Taylor "Cheesecake" (aka green jello with pineapple, cream, graham crackers - it was Great Grandma Taylor's famous cheesecake), and don't forget the grape juice and apple cider.
It was such a beautiful day, that the kids ate outside after our little program by Terra and Ava, and a story from Great Grandma Davies.
We had tons of yummy pie too. I think we had at least 20 pies!
On Saturday we headed up the mountains for some Christmas tree hunting. We were thinking there wasn't going to be any snow, but we found some.
Paige helped Jared and I find our perfect tree. She had a lot of fun in the snow.
We love traditions!
