Happy 11th Birthday

Our Camille girl turned 11 years old today!  I can hardly believe that my first little newborn, whom I was scared to death to take care of is that old.  Where has the time gone.  She is growing up so fast, we can hardly keep up with her.  She is quite the convincing, persuasive girl because she pretty much planned her birthday.   She wanted to go to Boondocks on a date with me.  We had some rain checks to use so I took her one evening last week.  We had a really great time together!

This morning she wanted breakfast in bed, "French Toast" please.  MMMM - Good!

 Next item, present....a round Eos chapstick and money because she is trying to save up enough for an ipod shuffle.  Exactly what she ordered!

 She requested lunch at Arctic Circle with a pumpkin shake.....check.

Then home to make her cake of choice.  I helped a little.

For dinner....chicken fingers, potato wedges, peas.....check.

She is a planner and an organizer and we love her for it.  It really made her birthday easy.  I just had to do what she wanted.  No creativeness on my part, it's all her!

We love how responsible she is.  We could not handle all these crazy kids without her!

You are one special girl and we are grateful you came to our family!

Space Derby and General Conference

Garet had a Space Derby for Cub Scouts.  Jared was so excited to help him have the best, fastest rocket.  He won first place!  Way to go Garet!

 We grew a few watermelons and cantaloupes this year and Mason was sure to check on them every few days, so one day Jared sent him out to pick one.  He was very excited!

 One day we bottled 43 gallons of grape juice (in half gallon and quart jars)!  About 1/4 of the grapes were from our garden.  The rest were from people Jared found who didn't use their grapes.  It took us about 8-9 hours.  We have the method down now:)

For General Conference we went to Nate and Amanda's house in Highland.  They just moved into a home that has about an acre with big trees, goats, a big garden and plenty of place to run and play.  It was a fun day with yummy soup and inspired words from our prophet and leaders.

They even had a pinata (homemade) for the kids. 

 We brought some of our grape juice and as you can see it ended up on Dallin's shirt:)

 Amanda milks one of her goats, so she let the kids come and watch.

 We had an apples pressing day on Saturday.  We had the Yost's, Schultz's, Bradford's, Headley's, Uncle Richard, Button's, Tueller's, and Yeates's come.  Some for half a day and some for all day.  We made 167 gallons of cider!  It was a very long, but rewarding day.  We have one more day planned and then we can officially say that canning is done for the year!!  Yippee:)
