Marvelous Moab & New Road Bike!

I FINALLY got a new road bike! Well, it's a used one, but it's new to me. I love it. It is all carbon fiber and is just my size, yipee! My sister-in-law, Melissa and I are going to do a Triathlon in July, so I am getting very excited to use my bike. The day I got it, Jared and I went for a ride. It is so nice:)
About two weeks ago we headed down to Moab for a vacation. It was AWESOME! We left Tuesday and surprised the kids with a night in a hotel in Green River. We had a great time and they even got to go swimming.
The "long" car ride!

This was a sweet sunset in Green River. The camera doesn't do it justice, but the sun on the mountains was beautiful.
Swimming in the hotel pool.

Wednesday moring we drove to this place called Sego Canyon. It is a ghost town that used to mine coal. It had some really cool petroglyphs and pictographs and some old buildings.

Then we stopped and saw some dinosaur tracks. This one was very cool! Can you see it?

This is called Gold Bar Arch. We visited this place on Thursday with most of Jared's family. We had to go on some major rock crawling/4-wheeling roads to make it and then you had to hike quite a ways to see it. I stayed back at the truck with Mason and Garet, but Camille went along for the hike.
This was a minature arch that the kids thought was cool. You can walk across the top.

Jason and Garet.
Another cool rock formation.
This was called Birthing Rock. My cousin Kandie and her family were down in Moab at the same time we were, so we spent part of the day with them.

(Ava, Garet, Hailee, Leah, Camille, Sydney, Taylor)

You can see why it's called "Birthing Rock". Wow, that's a big baby!

Sweet Mason baby!

All the kids were waiting for Dad and Grandpa to hike to the top to see an arch, so they found some of their own rocks to climb on.

They made it to the top!
This was a cool canyon that had two arches at the end and a stream. It was gorgeous this time of year. Camille and I fell into the stream trying to cross it. She slipped and I tried to help her and we both tumbled in. She was wet up to her neck, I was wet up to my waist! It was pretty funny. She didn't think so.

Mason was worn out!

Sister-in-laws are the best!

Happy Easter and Happy Birthday Jared!

Saturday was Jared's 31st birthday! Wow, that seems so old:) It's hard to believe that we've gotten this old so fast. It feels like yesterday we were dating down at Snow and Jared had only been home from his misson for two years. Jared is a super amazing guy! For those of you who know him, you know that he is very talented with his hands. He can make or fix anything! Just last week he made me two signs out of metal for Enrichment night. He bought the steel and welded them up all in one night, at the last minute. He is so good to me. He is a great leader, father, husband, and example and we love him so much!
We had a great day and hopefully Jared did too. We started out with breakfast in bed and then off to the Clinton City Easter Egg hunt. Later we went on a shopping spree to Jared's most favorite stores. First it was Sportsman's Warehouse to get a griddle for our camp chef, then to Smith and Edward's where we found lots of great treasures, and finally Harbor Freight to get this totally awesome tool that he just has to have, and it was on sale and he had a coupon, even better! He was in 7th heaven and me and the kids had a pretty good time also. Later that day, Jared had to speak at the Leadership session of Stake Conference, which wasn't his most favorite b-day present, but he didn't even complain. Then he came home to one of his favorite dinners, bread and milk! It's a family tradition. Next, I headed to the Adult session of Stake Conference, while he stayed home with the kids. (We went out to Gabor Bros. on Friday night). Easter Sunday we had Stake Conference down at the Ogden Tabernacle. It was a beautiful morning and the flowers were gorgeous! We had a fun Easter and a great b-day celebration.

The three sweeties!

Ready for conference. Garet had a rough morning:)

Camille, Daddy, and Mason. (Garet was crying because he didn't want his hair wet)

Coloring Easter Eggs! Garet just had to eat an egg, so he "accidentally" cracked it! Silly boy!

The Easter Egg hunt!

Mason was good, of course!

New baby.....???

It's a Boy!! My sister Kendra and her husband Luke just had a baby boy on April 7th. This is their third child. They have the same kids as we do. A girl, Elle, who is 5 1/2, and boy, Isaac, who is 2 1/2, and now baby Owen. He has tons of dark hair and is such a cutie! He weighed 7lbs. The exciting thing about him is they didn't find out what they were having. I think I would like to try that next time. It was a lot of fun for everyone. Congrats to them! What a sweet little family.
