First off....we were able to go see the last test fire of the shuttle at Jared's work. He works for ATK (the branch in Clearfield) and they are ending the shuttle program, which mainly affects the Promontory branch. It was very neat to see. We were about 2 miles away and it was super loud!! Jared was interviewed by channel 5 and had his 2 seconds of fame! It's amazing how many people watch the news. We got about 10-15 calls that night! Crazy!
We went and saw the rocket display afterwards. It was fun to show the kids what Daddy builds at work!
Garet learned to ride a two-wheeler! Yippee, what a big boy! Now he can keep up with his big sister.
I was able to go on a girls get-a-way last weekend with three of my sisters and mom! We had the best time. It happened to be that none of us are nursing and Collette's baby isn't due until Mid-April, so we had to take advantage. This only happens once every three years or so. We headed down to Toquerville and enjoyed our time thoroughly. Each night was spent talking until at least 2:00 a.m. I haven't stayed up that late since I had a newborn. I think I'm still recovering from that one. We left all the kids at home with the hubby's, and they all survived! We spent our time shopping, sewing petti-skirts, and working on other projects. We were wishing for one more day!
L-R: Collette (expecting baby boy in about 6 weeks), Mom, Me, Kendra, Carly
We had this great idea to make all our girls (we each have one) petti-skirts for Easter this year. Me, Kendra, and Carly attempted to sew them a few weeks ago and got to the end and realized we had done something terribly wrong........Oh no......all those hours. It made us sick! So we ordered new material and had my expert mother make sure we were doing things exactly right. Finally, about 10 hours later, we had a beautiful finished petti-skirt! I feel like I can sew anything now. It was not easy:)
Ta-Da!
I'm making this road play mat for Garet's b-day! It's going to be so fun!
AHHH....sisters.....and of course our beautiful mother!
Jared, being the brave Dad that he is decided to take the kids and head to Duchesne for the weekend. I think they had just as much fun as I did.
Mason and Grandpa!
Bull rider in training!
They even got to go ice fishing! Yippee!
More horse riding!
And then she got to come home and try on the new skirt!
The next day I had a little of this...
and a lot of this....
and this...
but we did manage a few smiles here and there!
It's always good to be together again!
