Summer Kick Off!

We went on our annual Moab trip with our friends a week ago.  We started out the week by heading to Duchesne for the memorial day festivities.  All packed up ready to go!
The truck was loaded as usual.

Visiting the graves.  This is Grandpa Davies's headstone.
L-R: Taylor, Garet, Mason, Ava, Me, Hailee, Camille.  We also visited Great Grandma and Grandpa Taylor and Grandma Taylor, and a few others.

Of course the highlight is riding Lightning.  Mason really loved it this time.
Mason and Ava.
One afternoon when Mason and Dallin were sleeping we took Camille and Garet on a ride up the wash.  The horses were pretty spunky, but no one got bucked off.  It was a lot of fun!
Wednesday we headed down south and stopped at the white wash sand dunes (this is where the guys went for their trip).  It was a beautiful place, but the biting gnats were out, so we had to keep shooing them away, especially from little Dallin.  The kids loved playing in the sand and riding on the 4-wheeler with Daddy.

Dallin was so good even though it was hot and the gnats were getting him!

We stayed in a hotel in Green River that night and visited the local watermelon!
Then it was down to Moab on Thursday to meet our friends, the Button's.  We did this hike on Friday after Robyn and I, and Dave and Jared went on a bike ride on Slickrock.  We  had a blast biking!!  This is one of our favorite arches because it's not in the park and is just as impressive.
The Button's had their HUGE dog with them this year.  She is a great dane and even made the hike.
Me, Mason, and Dallin made it about half way and that was all Mason's little legs were going to take him, so we headed back.
The rest of the gang went on to see the Bow Tie Arch.
 ...and Corona Arch!

They were lucky enough to see someone repelling off the arch!

Garet has become quite the little biker.  He rides his bike everyday for several hours, so of course he wanted to try riding on slick rock.  We found a perfect little spot near our camp for him to ride on.  He was a pro.  That kid is amazing.
Mason was more interested in playing in the dirt/sand.
Camille even liked riding on the slick rock.
We found this little oasis at the top of the slick rock.  It was beautiful.
Our camp.  We stayed in the slick rock camp ground this year and it was really fun!  The location is great and we could bike right over to the Slickrock trailhead.

More slick rock biking before heading home.

We also went to our favorite water hole, but I didn't take any pictures again!  Maybe next year I'll remember.  We had a great time!  Thanks guys for coming with us!
 Dallin's latest find......the thumb.
