My kiddos

I wanted to remember something about my kids at these ages.  Time goes by too quickly and they are growing up so fast.

Camille is quite the little lady.  She has been as busy as ever during her summer break.  Her and her friend Riley have already had a couple lemonade/craft stands.  Camille's friend McKennlie got hurt in an ATV accident a couple weeks ago, so the entire neighborhood has been trying to help by raising money for her.  She always wants to check the blog and see how she is doing and is always thinking up new ways to earn money for McKennlie.  For Activity Day last week we made a pillow case and shirt with all the girls's hand prints and a short note to give to her.  They thought this was awesome.  We are grateful she is doing so well.
Camille and Riley also planned an art class for a bunch of the little kids in the neighborhood.  They are going to start this week and do it for 4-5 weeks.  She just can't stop thinking about it and planning things for it.  She is so spunky, we love her to pieces.
Garet has been busy riding his bike and playing with his friends.  He is asking to play with friends as soon as his jobs are done in the morning.  He has become quite the social bug this year.  When he's not playing with friends he is bugging/teasing Mason and every once in a while they play really well together.  He has an extra soft spot for Dallin.  He is always willing to play with/entertain him, and his heart just melts for that sweet little brother.  It's quite tender to watch!  He is a sweet boy that is growing up too fast.
Mason is on his bike more than Garet.  His favorite thing is to go to the big hill (as big as hills get in Hooper).  It's part of the trail that is behind our house.  We go on walks several times and week and he just wants to go to the big hill every time.  He makes me so nervous.  I've been a lot more strict about him wearing his helmet lately.  His bike gets hung up if he doesn't have it on.  He and Dallin are really starting to play well together.  He can make Dallin laugh like crazy.  He is trying hard to stay in his bed at bedtime so the treat fairy can leave him a treat!  I think he tests my patience multiple times a day.  Somedays I wonder if I'm ever going to survive 2 more years with him home all day with me, but we love this crazy guy.
Dallin just wants to be outside all day everyday.  He carries his shoes over to the back door and begs to go out.  When it's time to come in he cries and throws a huge fit.  Sometimes I shut the garage doors and let him play in the garage for a while and that seems to satisfy him.  He is getting so sturdy on his little legs, but I still can't seem to come to grips with him being an older brother in 4 short months.  He is still such a baby to me.  He is such a smiley guy and so content to just play. He makes all of us smile!
I found this great spot to take pictures.  (So Collette, next time you are up this way I need you to take my kids pictures)
I love my four sweeties!

Baseball/Softball Season

Camille and Garet played baseball this year!!  It was really fun.  I played when I was a kid and it brought back lots of memories.  They both did really well learning to catch and hit the ball and learning the rules of the game.  Camille was in machine pitch and had a super awesome coach!  He was so great with the girls and she really enjoyed playing.  She improved a lot during the 8 games and handful of practices.  I was sick for one of her games and Jared was out of town, and she hit a home run!!  She didn't even know that's what it was called.  I was so sad I missed it.  She had several good hits and did really well playing second base.  She even got a couple of outs!
I didn't get any pictures of her batting, but here are a couple of outfield shots.
Garet had a flunky coach.  Is that even a word?  He only showed up for one game.  So.....Jared and some of the other parents had to step up and be the "coach".  Jared never played baseball as a kid, but he did just fine helping the little boys.  Garet loved having Dad help him and pitch to him.  He played coach pitch and if they didn't hit it after five pitches they would set the tee up.  Garet was quite the little hitter.  They were very fun to watch.  Just a few funny things:  running the bases backwards, the entire team diving for the ball, everyone wanting to play first base, and dropping the ball on the base to get someone out! We had quite a few laughs from these 5-6 year olds!

They'll both be champs next year!

Surprise!

We are having a
GIRL!!!!!

I still can't believe it's true.  Camille is so thrilled that she is going to finally get her sister that she has been patiently waiting for, for a long, long, long time.  With every brother that was born she always thought it was going to be a girl.
We had to pull out the girl baby clothes last night and reminisce Camille when she was a baby!
She is a healthy little girl that should be born around October 25th.

M & M Trip

We headed to Duchesne for the annual Memorial Day festivities.  We visit a few family graves and then have a lunch with the Taylor extended family afterwards.  This is Jared's Grandpa's headstone.  He died about 3 and a half years ago.
Camille has to ride Lightning while we are "at the farm", so she took Dallin for a little ride!  He loved it.
She is becoming quite the horse rider.  She can gallop all around the pasture.

On Wednesday we headed to Moab with our friends/neighbors and played our little hearts out!  This is the third year we've done this trip and we look forward to it for months.  This year another family joined us for part of the trip, so that made it even more fun!  We had 6 adults and 10 kids 8 and under.  It was quite the party, but everyone seemed to sleep good at night, which was a huge blessing.
Little Dallin just loved the sand!
Garet and Mason loved riding on the slick rock.
We camped in Sand flats right across from the slick rock bike trail, so one morning Jared took Garet on the real slick rock trail (practice loop) and he LOVED it.  Jared said he only had to walk his bike 2 times (which is better than I can do it).
We have our favorite little water hole that we go to when it is blazing hot, which it was!
Sand and water, what more does a kid need.
Our friends have this giant horse of a dog that comes along on the trip.

We also got to go climbing!!  I haven't been climbing in at least 13 or so years, so it was fun to try it out again!  Garet was patiently waiting his turn.
This was Jared's first time so Dave was giving him some pointers.

Camille even made it to the top!
Hooray for the pregnant lady!  I can still climb!
 Garet taking his turn.
Mason and Owen just playing on the rocks.  Silly boys!
Their was a huge rock mountain behind our camp that the kids loved to climb and play on.  Daddy, Garet and Mason.
Dad and Garet at Hunter Arch

 The two bike riders!
We hiked hunter canyon one morning.  It is a perfect easy hike, just right for the little tikes.
 Camille and Breelyn.
Garet and Dustin at the top of Hunter Arch.
The Button's taught us how to catch a lizard!  You just get a stick and a piece of string and tie a slip not on the end.  Then you loop the string around the lizard's head and voila!!  We caught one and Breelyn named it Herman.

We also got to borrow Will's Razor (4X4/side by side) machine.  It was awesome.  For some dumb reason I forgot to take pictures of the kids going on rides.  It seats 4 people and is the most amazing thing!  It can climb almost any obstacle.  We rode lots of fun trails (Hell's Revenge, Fins and Things, and baby lion's back).  We had such a great time and are already looking forward to next year!
