Camille our little artist

Camille brought home a flyer a few weeks ago for an art contest at the Ogden Nature Center.  She decided she wanted to enter.  The theme was, "Water, where does it come from, where does it go?"  She drew a picture of our "Hooper Garden" and bees showing how the water water goes into the slough and then into our garden.  It was a great idea and she did a great job.  I told her not to get her hopes up because I was sure a lot of kids entered into the contest.  We mailed it in and then forgot about it.  Well, a week ago I got a call saying she won 1st place for the 2nd graders and we were invited to come to an awards ceremony that Saturday!!  She was so excited and so were we.

We are so proud of her hard work!  It was also Earth Day on Saturday so the Nature Center was having all kinds of activities, so we stayed for a while and did a few things.  We got to watch a sheep being sheered and then watch how they turn the wool into yarn, and harvest the lanolin.  The kids got to climb a rock wall and pet some sheep and Alpaca's.  Then they got to build a little bird house.  The highlight of the trip was for Camille to cash in her gift certificate at the gift shop.  She was in 7th heaven!  She was even generous enough to get something for the boys too.  Thanks for the fun Saturday, Camille.  We think you are one special girl:)

Moab yet again.

This time it was the boys!!  (and a few cousins/Aunts/Uncles)  Garet and Mason got to go with Daddy this year!  Hooray for Mommy.  I got to enjoy having one child during the day and got so much done:)  They had a blast  on the 4-wheelers and Mason only had a couple melt downs.

 A cool part of the trail.  This was the all-day ride.  I think it was like 45 miles.

 Garet was so proud of himself for driving the 4-wheeler, of course, while an adult was on with him.  He would push the gas and steer.

 Of course you can't go to Moab without your Mt. bike.  Garet had to try out the slick rock on his new bike (with gears).  He loved it!

Garet, Mason, Camber, and Alissa.  Camille really wanted to go on the trip and I would have let her except she had swimming lessons (that ended up getting cancelled).  We had a fun time though!  I got her out of school early on her half birthday (April 13th) and we went shopping and got pizza and a movie that night.  It was a fun little girls night for us.

 This is Will's fancy Razor.  It's really fun to ride in and much safer than a 4-wheeler.

Easter Festivities

I found these really awesome paint roller easter egg coloring kits, so we didn't have to mess with the cups of vinegar dye.  The kids loved it and they could paint lots of colors on the eggs.

 The Saturday before Easter was my niece, Taylor's baptism.  Camille had to wear her white dress, of course.  It was a beautiful day and we are so excited that Taylor chose to be baptized.

 Later that afternoon we had a visit from the Easter bunny!  The kids had to search and search for their baskets and with a few clues from Mommy (the easter bunnies' friend) they found them.  Mason was so excited about his bubble bath!  That's all he talked about:)  Garet got a baseball and new crayons.  Camille got a weaving loom and colored pencils.  Dallin just wanted to eat the jelly beans and steal everyone else's stuff.

 We tried some outside, but they just look awkward.  Mason is squished on the side and Dallin is squirmy.  Oh well, good memories.

Happy Easter!

Twins....three sets??

During spring break last week we had my sister's kids over for a day and a night because she just had a new baby.  Her kids are the same ages/genders as my kids, so I felt like I had three sets of twins, plus Dallin.  They play soooooo well together, I hardly noticed they were here.  They all got bundled up and went for a bike ride right after breakfast, but then Elle got a flat tire, so that ended the biking for the trip.  They looked so cute together though and Elle and Camille were so good to help the little ones with their bikes.

 Feeding time was another story.  I definitely noticed the extra mouths.  I had to run my dishwasher twice in one day!  They were all so good though, I didn't mind the extra work.

We had such a great time.  Hopefully we can do it again during the summer!
