Pine Wood Derby

Jared put together a Pine Wood Derby Race for his scouts and invited anyone else who wanted to participate.  After much deliberation he finally decided to build a track - 3 weeks before, instead of rent one.  I told him he was crazy:)  He got it done, which I knew he would, even though he was up until 2 or 3 am for 2 weeks straight!  Needless to say it worked like a champ and we are all relieved that it's finally over.
The race had three classses:  Traditional, Modified, and Slowest cars.  This is his Lego "slowest" car.
Garet's car is on track C.
Mason's car, the Porcupine is on track B.
Garet ate it up!!  He sat here the entire hour and a half.  He was pretty bummed his car didn't win, but he still had a good time.

We had lots of great helpers from the ward!
This was the "Family Race".  Jared's car, Camille's High Heel car and Garet's car and Mason's right behind.  I think Camille's car should've won an award for the most creative!!  It turned out so cute, even if it wasn't fast.

I missed the modified race.  Three guys had cars (Jared included).  Jared's friend Clint (YM's Presidency) beat Jared!!  He is also an engineer:)  The race is on now.
The night went fairly smooth with only a few hiccups, but everyone seemed to have a great time!
Two of Jared's boys were the winners.  Congrats!

The Big "ONE"

Dallin turned one on February 10th!!  Yippee, we survived the first year, although I think the second year is almost as hard because they are so busy and into everything.  He is such a sweet little guy!  We love him so much.  He has all of us wrapped around his little finger.  The kids LOVE to play with him and pack him around.  Camille told me the other day, "Mom, I just hate when Dallin cries, can't you just pick him up."
 He loves to play peek-a-boo!

He sucks his thumb when he is tired or finds his snuggly, something like it, or his mommy!  He has been extra clingy lately.  If I leave the room he cries for me.  I thought maybe when I finished nursing he wouldn't be so clingy, but the opposite is true!  Hopefully we survive this stage.  It doesn't help that he is getting teeth either.  He only has two bottom and one top, so his gums are pretty swollen.
He even gets in on the wrestling with the boys.
Here he comes crying to his mommy:)
He stands up to almost everything, but is still a ways from walking.
He finds all kinds of treasures underneath things.

We had a little birthday party with the Taylor Family.  Cousins Hailee and Hazel celebrated their birthdays too.  The three birthday kids - 6, 3, 1
Dallin liked the bags better than the presents.
It's usually a lot of chaos with this many people/cousins!
Grandma and Grandpa gave him his first pair of cowboy boots!!  Just wait till I start walking, I'll be the cutest cowboy around.
He wasn't quite sure about the cupcake, I don't think he liked the coconut on top.

Happy Birthday everyone!

Snowmobiling Trip

This past weekend we went to Strawberry Reservoir with some friends to go snowmobiling and play, play, play!  We went with two other families and had a great time!  We stayed in the lodge on Friday night.  Good times:)  The Fielden's have Alynne (Camille's age), Sage (Garet's age), Cael (Mason's age), and Daisy (3 months old).  The McFarland's have Boston (Garet's age), and McKay (a year older than Mason), and she's prego with #3.  The kids had such a great time playing together.

 Clint trying out the snowboard.

Dallin would not take a nap on Friday afternoon until we took him for a snowmobile ride and then he zonked right out.
Mason getting ready to go back out into the snow!  He loved riding on the snowmobile and never got tired of it.
Dallin was into everything.  He did pretty good except he woke up really early on Saturday morning (5:30) and wouldn't go back to sleep!

Their was a prefect sledding hill right outside our hotel rooms that the kids loved going down.
 And....Daddy loved it too!

The Fielden's brought this little snowmoblie, so Camille and Alynne got to "learn" how to drive it.  They thought they had died and gone to heaven.  They were so big and grown-up.

A couple of the kids took turns riding on the snowboard with their Daddy.

 The Garet Guy!
Sage about to go down the hill.

We had such a fun time!  We are so glad to have such fun friends.  The kids asked me several times if we had this much snow at our house.  I think they thought they would come home to snow.  Not quite!  We have no snow and probably won't get any for the rest of the winter.
