We went to Red Canyon a couple weeks ago for the Cable family trip this year! It was beautiful and fun! Red Canyon is just outside of Bryce Canyon (about 10-15 miles). We stayed in the campground and enjoyed flush toilets and showers!! It has a fun paved biking trail that runs through the canyon. We all hauled our bikes down and road on the trail many times. It was the funnest when we drove everyone to the top and then rode down the canyon. The kids especially had a blast.
We did a few little hikes and found some fun places to explore!

This hike was in Red Canyon called "The Arches". It is a short (.8 mile) hike and you see 15 arches. It was so fun! Perfect for kids. Owen, Luke, Elle, Isaac.
Of course Jared has to stand right on the edge with Dallin on his back. After that I carried him:)
The nice thing about Red Canyon is the elevation. It is pretty high (almost 8000 ft), so it would cool off so nicely at night/mornings. Dallin and mommy!

They ran around and rode their bikes like crazy boys. They have so much energy. Camping is quite an adventure when you are 5!

One day the guys decided to go for a mtn. bike ride on the Thunder Mountain trail. It was pretty intense with a lot of crashes! Jared is still complaining that his ribs hurt from his crash.
This little stream ran right by our campsite in the wash. The kids were in heaven playing in the sand/mud. It was perfect because it only had a little bit of water in it.
We hiked this Mossy trail (cave) and also saw a waterfall. It was a fun hike, perfect for kids.
We were trying to find a place in Bryce Canyon to eat lunch and couldn't find anything without a billion people, so finally we stopped at this picnic pull-out, even though it was in the middle of a burned forest. It offered a little shade:) Good memories!

We hiked Queen's Garden with Carly & Andy, and Jake & Kaylyn (and even little Addy) on Wednesday. It was fun with lots of cool things to see.

Dallin woke up really early one morning and wouldn't go back to sleep, so Jared put him in the backpack while he built and fire and made breakfast. He finally fell fast asleep.

It was smoky the bears 75th birthday, so he came to the Red Canyon Visitors center one of the days. The kids thought he was pretty cool.

On one of the bike rides Mason was riding the trail bike (a bike that hooks up to Jared's bike) and I didn't have the pin put in right so the bike came off while they were going and he crashed. He got some road rash on his arms and knees. He was a trooper though. I was driving the truck back to camp and pulled over to watch them ride by and saw them crash, so I was able to go get him and put him in the truck and take him back to camp.

Queen's Garden
Dallin eating dinner. We stayed one extra night and had more fun! We met some campers from Germany next too us and they gave the kids some coins, and we shared our brownies with them. They were really nice.
Garet and Mason were breaking rocks apart by throwing them on a giant rock. They thought it was great, until Mason bonked himself right on the head!
The sunsets were beautiful too. The rocks would look like they were on fire.
Thanks everyone for coming and doing what we love to do!! We'll have to do it again someday!
