During our Spring Break my Mom and I took the kids to Nampa, Idaho to visit my Grandma Cable. It was a very long drive (5 hours), so it was nice to have her be the "Mom" and take care of the kids while I enjoyed driving. We stopped in Burley where I lived for a few years as a little girls. This is the house we lived in. It is still in a cute quiet neighborhood. Oh, the memories!
We stopped and ate lunch at this awesome storybook park in Burley.
It had the coolest stuctures and art work. They played for a while and didn't want to leave when it was time to go. There were tons of squirrels. They were fun to watch.
Great Grandma Cable. Grandpa died about 13 years ago. I know she misses him a lot. We miss him. She has lots of clocks and trinkets in her house. She lives next door to my second cousin (I think) who has a cute family and their backyards are open to each other. The kids loved the trampoline in her backyard. One morning we took a trip to Lake Lowell to visit the visitors center of the Deer Flat Wildlife Refuge. We went on a little nature walk and had a fun morning. A couple of uncles came to visit and one of my cousins.
My cousin Latrisha has 6 kids, so between the two of us we have every age from 11yrs.-1yr. Pretty impressive huh? We tried to get a picture, but getting 11 kids to stand still was quite a task. Camille - 11, Bria - 10, Garet - 9, Lydia - 8, Stratton - 7, Mason - 6, Bittner - 5, Dallin - 4, Roady - 3, Paige - 2, Drayton - 1
On our way home we stopped at Shoshone Falls. It was pretty chilly so we didn't drive down to the falls.
#2 Spring Break - San Rafael Swell/Goblin Valley. Most of Jared's family had Spring Break the week after ours, so we just pulled our kids out of school for a few days the next week! The first day was very cold and windy, but then it warmed up and we had a great time.
Mason and Garet were the biking boys and Dallin and Luke were the dump truck gang.
The men went on a ride.
Melissa brought this baby thing for Ruby, but Paige really wanted to try it out!! Silly girl!
Evie and Paige
We went on really cool hike in a slot canyon called Little Wild Horse.
Paige hiked almost the whole way until she was too tired she fell asleep on Daddy's shoulders.
One of the days we went to Goblin Valley and played on the Goblins. Garet was good to Paige and played with her a lot.
Paige and Grandma
Crazy Grandpa...he gives us a heart attack.
The truck loaded up. Bikes, motorcyles, and camping gear!
Camille and Taylor planned this "Hotel" with the campers. They had been planning for weeks.....They are two peas in a pod. They love to be in charge and plan things for everyone.
Another game organized by Camille and Taylor, and I think they conned Alyssa into helping them too.
Hailee, Garet, Taylor, Camille, Alyssa, Camber, Scarlett, Hazel, Evie, Weston, Kasen, and Ava. Missing - Mason, Dallin, Paige, Ruby.
The kids found great little hideouts when they went exploring. They were always off doing something.
Meal time in grandma's camper. This was the best place to eat.
It was an awesome trip in spite of my sprained ankle, which improved each day, and the wind. We are glad Carly and Andy and Melissa's parents came with us! The more the merrier:) We are glad Scarlett can experience the craziness of our kids. Until next time!
