Sunday best! It's so wonderful when everybody is ready for church early and we can take a few quick shots! I love Camille's silly face and the pen Garet has in (or out) of his pocket. This describes them perfectly!
Our sweet Dallin is still the most smiley baby ever! If he's not smiling he's eating or sleeping. Seriously, this kid is the BEST!
Garet and his cousin Isaac decided to cut their hair. Garet was very traumatized...
...but we finally got a picture of the before...
...and after...much better. He needed a summer buzz anyway:)
Camille always wants a picture while she's holding Dallin. She is my little helper! It's been great having her here all day for the summer.
We went to Duchesne for the Big Davies Reunion the third week in June. We stayed at Grandma & Pa Taylor's house the night before, so we had to take a ride down to the field to see the swelling Duchesne river...and of course the horses.
The horses don't like to be caught in the summer so we usually have to take some grain down to them, but Jared couldn't get any of them to come to him. Camille got off the 4-wheeler and walked right up to Lightning with a rope in her hand. She's got the touch. She told me the other day that she is half cowgirl and half city girl because Dad is from Duchesne and he's a cowboy! Must be true:)
The river was spilling over it's banks into the lower part of the field. Wow.
We camped at the Upper Stillwater campground. Dallin's just having a good old time, as usual.
Our campsite.
The boys loved riding their bikes.
and blowing bubbles with Grandma's fancy bubble toys.
Checking out the river that comes out of Stillwater.
Jared's Great Grandpa built the Rock Creek Lodge and would take groups on horse back up into the Uintah's, so for the reunion the family presented the lodge a plaque with the history of the Lodge. It was pretty interesting. Exploring the Uintah's has been part of the Davies family for a very long time. We are so lucky to get to continue that tradition.
Dad and Camille inside the lodge.
This is how Mason would catch a ride with Dad when we had to go further than his little bike would take him!
As with all family get togethers....we had lots of yummy food and treats!
Towards the end of the day on Saturday, Mason and Ava discovered the dirt...yuck! It is so black and sticks to you the minute you touch it. They did not like getting cleaned up afterwards.
a few more kids join in on the fun.
We drove home from Duchesne on Sunday morning before church and took the Wolf Creek route. This is what we found! Still 2-3 feet of snow! Wow, what a crazy year we've had.
The beekeeper at work again. Our bees are doing fantastic! Jared just put the third super on. He is brave enough to check on them without his bee suit!
We headed back to Duchesne for our annual 4th of July trip at the Lake. Since the 4th was on a Monday, we stayed at the lake from Thursday-Saturday and then stayed at Jared's parents house on Sunday and Monday. We had the perfect weather at the lake this year. Usually we get a good wind storm and some crazy weather, but it was calm all three days (except for the thunderstorm on Thursday before we got to the lake). We skiied an skiied and skiied some more. Then we took the kids on the wave runners and played in the sand.
It's nice to have so many babysitters. Dallin loved sitting with Grandma on the beach.
Warming up by the "fake" fires.
The kids loved playing on the water weeny.
Taylor and Camille were brave enough to try water skiing behind the wave runner. Taylor got up the first try....
...but Camille wasn't so lucky. Better luck next year!
Mason just loves this wake board.....j/k....he fell fast asleep in this awkward position after a long boat ride.
Grandma reading Liza Lou to the very tired, worn out grandkids before they headed to bed.
