Even though it's been super cold and snowy this winter, we find plenty of fun things to do outside!!
Ice Skating with the Madsen's (our super awesome neighbors!) at a pond in Clinton. Garet and Preston did really well for their first time on skates.
Camille and Riley busy as ever. They skated too and are old pros by now:)
Annie and Dallin getting pulled on the sled.
The kids love getting pulled and it's a good work out for us!
I'm getting a little less shaky on skates.
You can't just sled down the hill you have to "snowboard" down! Dare devil Garet.
After another huge snow storm, Dallin and Mason went out to play. It's too deep for Dallin to walk through so Mason had to make a trail for him. What a good brother.
Our next big adventure:
Grandpa & Grandma Homer's Cabin. It's up by Kamas and we missed out on the Christmas break trip, so we decided to go up on a Friday and spend the night. It was so much FUN! I have so many fun memories of the cabin when I was little, so it was fun to share those memories with my kids.
Grandpa has a couple old snowmobiles that he keeps up there so we got to go snowmobiling in the meadow with tubes and sleds hooked behind. Jared had to do a little mechanical work, but we got them going. Good thing he is such a handy man.
The kids had a blast playing in the cabin too.
We invited our neighbors to come up on Saturday and it was so fun.
We went for a walk past the "witches cabin" to the river, while we were waiting for them to come.
It was a beautiful sunny day.
Little Paige was so good.
Then we had to check out the pond.
Garet riding on the sled.
Mason's favorite spot was the tube.
Camille thought she was big enough to drive the snowmobile.
All of the kids and big kids tried out this ski chair. The kids named it the "bike". They thought it was pretty cool and they did really well staying up.
Dallin was happiest driving with Daddy.
One Saturday morning the kids were playing with dominoes and Jenga blocks and they built this awesome city. They were so proud of it and had to have me take a picture. Such good kids, until Dallin came along and then their was a lot of yelling and pouting faces.
Happy Birthday Dallin!! I can't believe you are 2 years old.
The other kids love birthdays as much as the birthday boy because they get to play with the new toys too. Dallin didn't mind too much. He was happy to share.
Jared made this yummy carrot dutch oven cake with orange cream frosting for his scouts, so we made it for Dallin's b-day (in the oven). It was delicious!! Dallin is still a really happy easy going guy.... when he is not sick. He is really smiley and doesn't talk yet. He says, uh-oh, ma-ma, da-da, more, Hi, and Peeee (for Paige), and he knows most of his animal sounds. Hopefully he will start talking soon so we can figure out what this little guy wants.
We took his "Snuggy" away a few nights ago and he is doing just fine without it. I thought it would be better to take it away before he could ask for it. So hopefully he'll stop sucking his thumb now (he only sucked it when he had his snuggy). We sure are in love with this sweet little boy. He has everyone wrapped around his finger.
Jared took his scouts to the Klondike Derby over at Fort Buenaventura in Ogden last weekend. They took 2nd place overall. Way to go!! He sure does a great job with his boys!
