One Sunday afternoon we went for a nice little walk, just like we do most Sunday afternoons. I told the kids before we left to go slow on their bikes and not get too far ahead. We didn't even think to make Mason wear his helmet because we were just going around the block. Well we stopped at someone's house to drop something off and Mason took off around the corner on his bike. Pretty soon we heard crying and saw blood dripping from Mason's head. Sure enough, he crashed right onto the rocks in someone's park strip and cut his forehead above his left eye wide open. It was almost in the exact same place Garet cut his forehead after falling out of the tree house in Clinton. We knew right away that he needed stitches. This is the make shift bandage that Dad made for him before we headed to the urgent care. (We were smarter this time and didn't go to the ER).
He was really calm by the time we got to the Dr.'s and then by the time they numbed him up and started stitching he fell fast asleep. He was so worn out. They did 3 inside stitches and 7 outside.
The next morning I wanted to take a picture of the wound, but Mason was being a stinker. So this is what I got.
Now he was a little happier, but we had it covered up with a band-aid.
The very next day we headed up to Cache Valley for the Homer Reunion. It was at the Little Bear River Resort in Paradise. We had a little thunder storm the night we arrived, but then the weather was beautiful the rest of the time. Dallin had a hard time sleeping in the tent and woke up about 6:00 every morning. So, we let him wander around the tent and cause lots of trouble. He didn't seem to mind a bit.
Other than that...he was pretty pleasant and happy.
Mason had a great time playing.
They had this giant slip n slide that the kids absolutely loved!
Garet didn't hold still long enough for me to get any pictures of him.
Here is the group photo of the Homer clan. This is my mom's parents (my Grandma and Grandpa Homer) family. They have 7 kids and 38 grandkids and almost 50 great grandkids (all under 10 yrs). It was quite the group. I think their were 120 people at the reunion. I loved chatting with my cousins and just being with people that I grew up doing everything with. Some of my good cousins live states away, so we don't get to see them very often.
We've been having a great summer.....if only the pink eye, and weird allergic reactions would leave us alone. All of us have had pink eye once or twice except Jared. Camille's had broke out in all these little blisters/hives one day and she was miserable. I finally took her to the doctor a couple days later, but we decided she was allergic to some flowers that she had been playing with in the flower bed. She is doing better now. Jared has been stung a few times this summer and he'll have a fat hand or leg or whatever for a week or so!
