Spring time fun

I forgot that during Spring break at the beginning of April we also had Taylor (another cousin) sleep over for 2 nights.  Camille loved having her here and they were my little workers.  They did tons of extra jobs and earned money.  We got to go to boondocks with the kids's report cards for a couple hours and then over to Krispy Kreme for free donuts (also report card rewards).  Camille and Garet got 6 donuts each for good grades:)  Wow!  They were in heaven.  The next day I told them we could go to Winco and DI so they could buy something with their hard earned money.  I hope Taylor had fun a midst all the chaos at our house.
The played blokus and then made this really cool design.  So creative:)

Jared bought the kids (and me) a bee suit so they can help/learn the bees.  It is so fun to watch them.  This is Garet helping.

Now it's Dallin's turn.  The arms are a bit long, but he was loving it.

Mason and Camille are still pretty skeptical, but one of these days they will take a turn:)

We have started doing the Easter basket/East bunny festivities on Saturday so we can focus on Christ on Sunday; so this year we were headed to the Hooper Easter Egg hunt on Saturday morning and realized that everyone and their relatives were headed there as well, so we turned around and came home and did our own Easter Egg hunt in the back yard.  It was a lot of fun!  I don't like to put a bunch of candy in the eggs because they already get so much candy everywhere else, so I put cereal in them, a few mike and ikes  (Dallin has an obsession with these), and sixlets (taken out of plastic).  So, if they eat all the goods from the eggs at least it's not as much sugar.  They were pretty excited about the Kix and Fruit loops.  Mason and Garet saved up the cereal and had it in a bowl with milk.  (I don't buy sugar cereal, so it was a huge treat!)
Camille and Garet got fishing reels for the fly poles they got for Christmas.  Mason got a hoe and Dallin a rake.  Paige got a few bath squirty toys, but she was more intrigued with the eggs.
Sunday morning was very relaxing a fun.  We had a yummy crepe breakfast and watched an Easter bible video on lds.org and spent time as a family.  Then it was off to church, which is my favorite Sunday of the year!  I love how everything is focused on Christ and the world outside is coming to life.  It is wonderful.  I just got put in as the 1st counselor in YW so we gave a combined lesson as a presidency that was focused on our theme, which is being brave in Christ.  I am so thankful to work with the YW.  They are amazing!

One day I was working in the yard and Paige went to play with Mason, Annie, and Dallin for a few minutes.  When I came to check on them, this is what I found.  Annie pulling Dallin in the trailer and Mason taking Paige on (Preston's) the Motorcyle.  "UMMMMM.....that is not ok,"  I said to Mason.  "But Mom, I remembered to put her helmet on and she really wanted to go for a ride!"  Mason replied.
Oh, what a sweet brother.  I sure hope Paige survives her crazy brothers.
We took our new boat out for the first time last week.  It was the Monday that was about 75 degrees!  We just went to Willard after Jared got off work.  It was an adventure.  The water was glass the entire time we were there.  We packed a dinner and enjoyed the beautiful Spring weather.
The water is still a bit chilly, but the kids wanted to ride the tube anyways.

Camille was pretty tricky standing up while the boat was going.
The boat was running great until Camille was about ready to knee board and then it kept saying an O2 error with the oxygen sensor and wouldn't start.  We (mainly I) was getting pretty nervous because it was about 7:00-7:30 and there were no other boats near us on the lake.  So finally Jared called his Dad to see if he knew what the problem could be, but he wasn't really sure.  (Meanwhile, I am starting to row us back to shore).  Jared had one other thing to try, but we decided to say a prayer before.  We said a prayer and then he unhooked the battery and hooked it back up and the boat started immediately, although it still said the same error.  So, I know that Heavenly Father answers our prayers.  We headed straight back to the Marina and loaded up to go home, thankful that our prayers were answered.   I remember being stranded/having boat problems a couple times as a kid with my family on the lake, but I was never worried because I knew my Dad would figure it out.  Now, I (we) are the parents and my perspective is much different because I have to be the responsible one.  Hopefully we get the problem fixed and we have better success next time.

Spring Break X's 2

For our Spring Break we had a cousin swap for a night.  Scarlett and Owen came to our house and Camille and Garet went to Elle and Isaac's house.  It was a lot of fun for everyone!  These were the three biking musketeers the entire waking time they were here:)

This is our neighbors house.  They would ride down the first two stairs and give me a heart attack!  We didn't have any serious crashes so I guess they are fine:)

Dallin likes to torture Paige.  Always bugging her.
General Conference was awesome!  The kids were actually really good.  We stayed home on Saturday and went to Grandma & pa's house on Sunday.  We had an Easter egg hunt for the kids on Sunday afternoon.  They loved it!

The grand kids plus Kaydi.  Scarlett, Amelia, Camille, Kaydi, Elle, Mason, Garet, Isaac, Owen, Grey, Addy, Paige, Braxton, Dallin.  Conrad, Anabelle, and Brooks were not in the picture.  Quite the bunch.

The next week we went on a Spring Break trip with Jared's family.  We took the kids out of school Thursday and Friday and headed down to Little Sahara sand dunes.  It was very fun and we had the best weather.  The kids loved playing on the dunes and going on lots of 4-wheeler rides.

Garet would convince you to take him on a ride so he could be the driver.  He would stay on for hours if you let him.
Friday we took a day trip to these cool lava tubes down by Fillmore.  We hiked down in these caves or tubes with our flashlights.  Pretty inpressive:)  Jared holding Evelyn.
Taylor, Eric, Hazel, Alyssa, Camille, Camber.
Garet and Evie
 Crazy Paigey!
Dallin and Grandpa were good little buddies on this hike.
It's hard to tell, but Mason, Dallin, and Grandpa were standing on this "bridge" or arch.  It was pretty scary.
Next stop was the hot springs by Fillmore.  The water was nice and warm.  We took over the entire pool with our crew.
Camille, Jared, Dallin, Taylor, Alyssa.
 Weston and Mason
A bunch of the group.  Even Grandma got in and swam with the kids!
Mason, Grandpa, and Dallin took a hike over to the other pool that has lots of fish in it.
Garet is getting good at chopping wood.  Whenever we were at camp he wanted to keep chopping:)
Give this girls a bucket and shovel and she was content.
Of course they had to sing the Zombie song with Uncle Scott.

Alyssa and Taylor getting buried in the sand.

Pretty fun trip!  Summer can officially begin now:)

Birthday Party and Baptism Day

More about Garet....
He had a friend party this year (they only get 3 friend parties - 5 yr, 8 yr, and 12 yr), so it was a big deal!  He couldn't decide between a bike party, since he loves to ride his bike, and a lego party, so we convinced him to do the bike party and we had the boys build a lego creation while we were waiting for everyone to arrive.   We had 8 little boys, plus our own kids, plus Camille's friend Riley to help with a few games.  It was a full house with lots of NOISE!!  Good thing Jared was home:)
Waiting to start a game....Aaron, Mason, Garet, Preston.
Playing Oink, Piggy, Oink.  They thought this was hilarious.

Playing the penny on the flour game.  You make a flour sand castle with a measuring cup and then carefully set the penny on top.  Each person has to cut a slice off the flour until the penny falls and then that person has to get the penny with their mouth.  We played this growing up at our bday parties.  It was a hit!

 The Oreo Icecream Cake!  Yummy!

Camille and Riley did a scavenger hunt with a driver's license as the prize.  It was cute and the boys had fun running through the house and yard.
Then it was outside for the bike rodeo.  Jared was in charge of this part and he did a great job.  He talked about bike safety and then set up a little obstacle course they had to go through.
Then we went to the back and rode a course through the garden and down the hill.  We only had one kid crash and I think he was pretty traumatized.  He had only ridden his bike a few times.  We let him be the flagger after that incident:)

Jared made some little license plates with the kids names on them to hook to the bike.  They turned out very cute and the boys were excited.
I think the party was a success!!!

Last Saturday Garet was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  It was a beautiful day and everything was so perfect.  Everyone from our families was there except Will and Traci and Grandpa Taylor (he had to work).  Garet's second grade teacher, Mrs. Larson was also there.  We are so lucky to live so close to our families.  My sister Collette even came with her 1 1/2 week old little baby!  What a trooper:)  Garet was baptized with 3 other kids from our ward (1 boy, 2 girls).  Grandma Cable gave a talk on the Holy Ghost and Luke Christensen's sister gave a talk on Baptism.  They both did a great job.  After the baptism we came back to our house for a lunch of chicken salad sandwiches on croissants.  Everyone brought yummy sides and it turned out perfect.  Thanks for making it a special day for Garet and our family.

We are sure proud of Garet for making such a good choice in his life.

Random Dallin adventures...

He loves to check for eggs!

He takes his job very seriously!
