Garet's 8th Birthday

Garet turned 8 years old yesterday!  We love this boy so much.  He is such a good boy and is very sweet, but also very rambunctious and fun.  Grandma and Grandpa Cable took Garet and Isaac (even though he won't be 8 for a few months) to temple square a couple weeks ago.  They have a sleepover, photo shoot and go out to eat.  It is a very special occasion for a very special birthday.  He had so much fun spending time with his best buddy Isaac.  It is so exciting to watch them grow up together.  Lucky little boys:)

They brought umbrellas just in case, but it never did rain.  They made cute props for pictures though.
Here is a little peak at Garet's wild side:)

 Garet, Grandma, and Isaac.

I am so glad that my kids get to be so close to both of their grandparents!

For Garet's actual birthday, he opened presents before school and then we went bowling with our neighbors.  He gets to have a friend party on Saturday.  We are having birthday week around here:)  Fun times!
He got a marshmellow shooter and scriptures!  We already gave him his cub scout shirt and new suit.

Camille and her friends wanted to bake a cake on Saturday, so I assisted them in making a yellow cake from scratch with homemade buttercream chocolate frosting.  They were so proud and said it tasted soooooo good.  We decided it was Garet's pre-birthday cake.  Silly girls!

New bathroom, girl day, bee presentation, and funny kids

I took a few pictures of the basement bathroom shower.  It was our first tile experience and several hours later we are happy with how it turned out!  Now we are just dragging our feet with the vanity.  It costs so much $.  Maybe by next year it will be totally complete:)

My sisters, sister-in-law, and mom all got together for a girls night and shopping day.  We just hung out at my parents house on Friday and Mom and Carly made a scrumptious dinner.  We stayed up way to late talking and woke up late and had a delicious waffle breakfast!  We had a really great time and I got lots of shopping done, which rarely happens when you have three little ones that get to come to the store with you.  My sister, Kendra is missing (her hubby was out of town), and sister Kaydi had to go to a ski class.  Fun times!  Thanks to the hubbies for watching the children.
Camille roped Jared into going to her school to do a presentation on bees to the entire 4th grade.  He asked one of his friends in the neighborhood, who also keeps bees, who has a daughter Camille's age, to help him out.  Camille came up with a fantastic power point presentation and Jared came up with this brilliant way to show off bees in a plexi-glass case.  They finished off by passing out crackers and honey!  Way to go Dad!
Our little Paigey is the little tornado at our house.  Wherever she has been it looks like a tornado has left its tracks.  We had to get a picture of her in her little sailor outfit from Aunt Melissa, which was tricky because she leaves the hat on for about .2 seconds!
They sure love each other to pieces.
Dallin has pretty much stopped taking naps, but once in a while he still succumbs.  One day I found him like this in his room.  And.....as of this week, he is officially potty trained!!! HIP HIP HOORAY!  17 months with 2 kids in diapers is a long time:)  He is a champ too.  I don't even have to remind him, he just comes in and goes.  Amazing.  I was seriously thinking he might never do it.
 One of her tornado moments.....

One Sunday evening the kids decided to put the "parents" to bed, so they could stay up late.  They gave us foot massages and back massages and turned all the lights down and gave us blankets and pillows and the whole works!

It was quite relaxing.  I may have even nodded off for a little while:)
