What a day....

Uh-oh, can you see the crazy day in store from these sweet little "pink" eyes?!
Well, here it is....
Today was one of those days that you would never want to repeat. It all started when the kids woke up this morning. They all woke up with pink eye! I called the doctor right after breakfast and they told me they had a 9:30a.m. appointment (it was 8:45 and we live about 25 minutes away!). I said, "Ok, I think that will work." So we rushed out the door and made it just in time. Sure enough the doctor said it was pink eye. She gave me a sample prescription for Camille and Garet, but I had to go to the pharmacy for Mason. We made it home with the drops and gave each child a dose. Garet and Mason absolutely hate them, and we have to do it 3-4 times a day! We ate lunch and put the boys down for naps. Then Garet woke up at 3:00 p.m. from his nap crying because his ear was hurting. Oh no! I knew immediately it was an ear infection. I called the doctor again and they said they could get me in at 3:45 p.m. So, once again we rushed out the door and made it, barely. Of course, Garet had the beginning of an ear infection. This time I was thinking straight and asked the doctor to look in everyone's ears so I wouldn't have to make another trip to the doctor. Just my luck, Mason had an ear infection also. So, we went back to the pharmacy for some antibiotics and then grabbed a movie and some Wendy's. Finally, we made it home! So, I think this is a record at our house; three kids on eye drops, two kids on antibiotics, and one very exhausted mommy! And.....to top it all off Jared is out of town this week:) Life is great, isn't it?

On a more positive note....

I finally got a new camera!!! Hooray! It is awesome. It is a Canon powershot SX200 IS. It has a 12X optical zoom and is 12 megapixels. I love it! I stayed up late last night reading about all the different functions. I had great plans to take the kids out today and take hundreds of pictures, but obviously that didn't happen. So, I have a few of my pink eyed kids and Garet's head wound. We've had a rough couple of weeks as far as doctor visits go. I think I jinxed myself by thinking, "We haven't been to the doctor, for a sickness, in a very long time." Oh well, such is life! Enjoy the pictures!

Garet's wound a week and a half later!

My sweet little Millie! She is growing right up.

They were pretending to be in a Triathlon. They had to figure out a way to take the water bottles on the bike with them.

Poor little eyes! He was still a very good baby today! I didn't even know he had an ear infection:)
Yummy food! He is a great eater when it comes to table food.

Getting ready for the movie!

The head wound!

Mason coming to check out that thing that mom has! He is a huge trouble maker lately.

There's a first time for everything....

I've been dreading this day for several years and it finally happened! Our first visit to the ER. I just knew one of these days we'd have something happen, especially with boys. Garet and Camille were playing in the tree house at our "new" house and somehow Garet fell out of the hole. I heard screaming and went running outside. Garet was running towards me with blood dripping down his face and arms. He had a deep gash on his left eyebrow. Camille was so cute. She was scared for her brother and started crying because she was so worried. She was such a great helper and got paper towels and 5 bandaids for Garet. She said it would take more than 1 because of all the blood. We called Jared at work because he had the car with all the car seats and told him to get home now. I called the doctor's office and they told me to take him to the ER because they were busy and couldn't get to him for a while. So, off we went to the ER! Surprisingly, the waiting room was empty and we were only there for a total of 1 hour! ER record I am sure. Garet was so brave and held so still the entire time they were stitching him. The sweet nurse gave him a little stuffed tiger to take home. So, three stitches and lots of glue later, Garet will be as good as new. I still don't have my camera, so I took plenty of video, but sadly I have no pictures to post.

Lagoon

We went to Lagoon last Thursday with our good friends, The Dyer's, who have two boys the same age as our kids. We had a blast! We were able to take turns watching each others kids so the adults could ride some big rides. I haven't been to Lagoon for at least 10 years and I love riding rides! Jared gets a little queasy on some of them, but he still had a great time. When we rode the samurai (sp?) he got sick, but luckily he kept his lunch down. After that he was the master photog. We borrowed my sisters camera because we still don't have one. We want to get the one that she has, so what better way to see if we like it than to try it out first hand. The result: we loved it and are going to order ours soon.
When we first got to Lagoon, we rode the lady bug bop with the kids. This was probably a not so good idea because it scared Garet to death. So for the first couple hours he wasn't sure about all the rides, but he eventually warmed up and had a great time. Camille on the other hand was a dare devil. She wanted to go on everything and wasn't a bit scared! Next time we'll have to take her on some big roller coasters. She loved the tidal wave.
Poor Jared was such a good sport, even thought he wasn't feeling very hot. We met up with my sister Kaydi and her friend Colby for a few rides. I think my very favorite ride was "wicked" and the "Spider". I can't wait to go to Lagoon again! Maybe Camille and I will have to go next time:)

The car ride. Camille was already planning our day out!

Garet and Mom on the dragon ride. This one was very scary for Garet. He kept saying, I want it to stop!

Camille being brave as can be.

The wonderful swings.

Garet boy! We went on this ride twice.

Mom, Garet and Camille on the swings! Swings are one of my favorite rides:)

Camille and Colby (Kaydi's friend) riding puff. Camille has her arms up! (Right side)

Camille & Garet on the airplanes!

The merry go round.

He liked this one!

Michael and Woody, soaked!

Camille's most favorite ride, the lady bug bop!
Camille & Chip

Camille

Serious Garet. He actually really liked these cars, but you'd never know it from the pictures. Silly boy!

The mini tidal wave! The kids loved this one.

This is how most of the pictures turned out. Heads turned the wrong way! Oh, well.

Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday, August 10th marked our 8th anniversary! We had a pretty crazy day and neither of us even remembered until last night. We moved into our rental house on Saturday, and closed on our house yesterday. Now we can hardly wait until they start the new house.
I am so blessed to have Jared as my eternal companion. He is the joy and light of my life. He is the most talented, patient person I know. He is wonderful with our children and takes very good care of us. I must say I must be the luckiest girl alive! We've had a wonderful 8 years together, and are looking forward to many more.
I love you Honey!
