As most of you know, Jared can never just "do nothing"! He is always up to something. So, what do you do when it is super cold? You build an ice castle, of course. He tried it a couple years ago, but it just wasn't cold enough. So when we had that cold spell right after New Year's he decided to give it another try. He started out with our Christmas tree and a neighbor's Christmas tree and rigged up some sprinkler sprayers hooked up to some PVC pipes which are hooked to a hose. He has spent quite a few hours building more supports and moving icesicles. The kids love going out to help him build on it. They make cement (slush) in a bucket which hold the icesicles in place.
Jared, Mason, and Garet
We got about 14-15 inches of snow on Thursday and Friday last week. The kids didn't have school on Friday because it was the end of the term, so it made for a super exciting day.
They each built a snow fort.
Camille in her fort.
Jared working on the last tier. I can't even watch. It scares me to death.
Garet in his snow fort. Notice the icescicles on top:)
Smoky was wondering what they were doing hiding in their forts.
Mason's fort. Garet helped him.
Jared spent lots of time pulling the kids behind the truck on the sleds and building a sledding hill in the back yard. What a fun Daddy we have!
We had to run out and snap a few shots when it was dark. It looks really cool!
For some reason it has a bluish tint to it. We think it's because it is culinary water?
Paige and Mason. Someone gave me this little outfit for Paige and I just love the bright colors in the middle of a dull winter. She looks so bright and happy.

That is just too cool!! I can't even imagine how he managed to build that thing. He definitely is an engineer alright!! Tell Jared we think he is pretty AWESOME too!! Paige is so cute in her bright outfit.
Woh, now that's pretty darn cool looking! :)
Pretty neat! I bet the whole neighborhood has enjoyed it. :)
