5 Years Old!

My sweet Garet Boy turned five on St. Patty's Day! We had a week long celebration that started with a shopping trip and lunch with Grandma Cable. He got to pick out a toy and spend the afternoon with Grandma! He loved it! Thanks so much Grandma.  The truck he picked out gets played with all day long:)

Then we had a Cable Family party to celebrate Garet and Scarlett's b-day's!! Garet had a volcano cake and Scarlett had a barbie cake.

On his birthday he got breakfast in bed (baked oatmeal-his favorite)!  He told me that night that this was his favorite part of the whole day!  Then we had a preschool party with his friends.  We played St. Patrick's games, ate shamrock cupcakes, and went on a treasure hunt for the leprachaun's gold.  It was a lot of fun.  I didn't take any pictures though, darn it!

Camille gave him this rocket; she bought it with her own money and Mom and Dad gave him the scooter.  He was so excited!
Then on Saturday we had a party with the Taylor family.  We celebrated Garet, Taylor, and Grandpa's b-day's!
Garet got this construction/tool set from G & G!  He is in heaven!
And, we surprised him with baby chicks!  The kids were so enthralled!  Now Jared has to get busy building a chicken coop!
Of course, we had to do the volcano cake again because it was such a big hit!
 Grandpa & Garet.  Best buddies!
So far we've had better success with the chicks than we had with the cats!  Although we still have our kitty!  This is a record for us:)
We sure love our Garet!  I can't believe he is going to go to Kindergarten this year.  We had kindergarten roun-up today and he looked so grown up.  He is such a sweet, tender-hearted little guy!  I love him to pieces.

Ok, baked oatmeal? I need that recipe for sure :) Happy birthday Garrett! 5 Holy smokes they grow fast, that volcano cake look way awesome! Chicks, I've thought about that (we eat lots of eggs around here), heard good and bad, hope to get lots of stories :) Great pics!
