I finally have a chance to sit down and tell you all how the labor and delivery went. Things have been a little crazy this week.
I started having contractions Friday morning (October 17th), but they were pretty far apart and then kind of died down. At about lunch time they started picking up again and were getting pretty strong. I just relaxed and went for a walk and had Camille fix my hair (my favorite thing in the world). Finally, I told Jared that we needed to go to the hospital soon. Of course, just like with Garet, he wasn't hurrying fast enough. He was trying to stall and it was driving me nuts!! He was too worried about eating some chips and salsa, which I wouldn't recommend because the smell of his breath was making me sick later:) Anyway, I was in quite a bit of pain and definitely had to concentrate during contractions. Camille was so excited. She was running around getting her stuff cleaned up and putting her shoes on. She couldn't believe the day had finally arrived that her brother was "coming out"! We finally headed over to my mom's to drop the kids off and then to the hospital. We arrived at about 4:00p.m. and of course the nurse's were not taking me very serious and were taking their sweet time. They finally got the paper work done and checked me and I was at a 7! This is about 5:00p.m. Yippee, that was great news! I told them with my last one I went pretty fast and I wanted the doctor to come and break my water so we could get this over with, and again they were just taking their time doing more paper work and trying to get a hold of my doctor. So, they finally got me to a birthing room and still hadn't gotten a hold of Dr. Marriott, so they asked me if I wanted Cathy Jones, midwife who works for Dr. Marriott or Dr. Hartman, the doctor on call to deliver the baby. I told them at this point it didn't matter because I was going to have this baby anytime and I was in a lot of pain. At about 6:00 the nurse is frantically trying to get the IV in me and I'm spurting blood all over because she can't get it right. She finally put it in the other hand. They start setting up all the equipment and still everyone is taking their time. At this point I don't know if I can last any longer. Jared was so great during all this. Finally at about 6:15 the nurse checked me again and said, "Oh, you are ready, wow!" So Cathy Jones came in and broke my water and I pushed about 4 times with lots of yelling and screaming and voila, Mason Jared is here! So he was born at 6:30p.m. Good thing my water didn't break on it's own or I would've had him a lot sooner. It all worked out fine, but I was definitely disappointed with the nurses compared to when I had Garet. I was pretty mad at Dr. Marriott because he missed the birth of Garet also:) I definitely gave him a hard time when he came to see me. Oh well, I guess you can't count on the Doctor being their if you're not induced or scheduled, right?! So that is the whole story and here are some pictures of our beautiful baby boy and the two very proud siblings! He is so perfect and we love him to death. All the pain was somehow worth it, but I still don't know if I could do it again!

Are you kidding me Crystal, you did it AGAIN with NO epidural!?! You must be Wonder Woman! :) At least he came pretty quick though, right? He is adorable, I think he looks a lot like Garet. But of course when Garet was born, I thought he looked a lot like Camille! :) Cute little family!!! Congrats!
Holy moly, I have no idea how you do this without drugs. I think I must be a wimp. :) But great job! He's just beautiful and looks like the perfect addition to your cute family. Congrats!
Wow! What a story, it makes me frustrated with the nurses. You are just so sweet so no one takes your pain too seriously. Did you go without an epi for all of your kids? Way to go! And by the way, my favorite thing is having my hair done by my kids too! It's so relaxing!
Congrats!!! I'm glad Mason is here safe and sound! Love those sibling pictures. It's fun when they actually know what's going on. No epidural would have KILLED me, you are one brave girl! We didn't get our regular doctor to deliver, even though he induced me at 7 am and stayed his 12-hour shift! I guess there is no planning with these things. Three kids, wow, send any advice my way because I'm not quite sure what we're doing now either. :)
You are amazing!! I am glad that everything went well. With no epidural either, I could never do that!! He is so cute. We are going to have to make a trip up to see you guys!!
Congratulations he is beautiful! 3 kids is an accomplishment I am still going crazy with 1. What a labor story. Good thing you wrote it down.
I am so glad your labor was fast and not too bad. Mason is so beaurtiful, but aren't all babies? They are just precious!
