Annual Starvation Trip

Every year for the 4th of July we head out to Duchesne for our annual lake trip. It is usually windy at least half of the trip, but this year we lucked out. The wind only blew a couple times and didn't last very long. It rained for about 5 minutes one day and on and off during the night, but was gorgeous weather otherwise. It was overcast and sunny and very warm, which made for great boating and sand castle building!!! Normally we camp on the "Sandy Beach" which you have to boat to, but this year we decided to camp at a place called "Knight Hollow", so everyone could drive to it. It turned out to be a pretty nice place despite the mesquitos. We missed the seclusion of the sandy beach, but it saved a lot of trips for the boat hauling everyone's stuff. The kids had a blast with all their cousins. Garet still doesn't quite no what to do with all those girls:)

Alyssa (Jared's cousins little girl), Camille, me, Garet, and Taylor on the water weeny. They loved it.

Playing on the beach!!!

Although the weather was gorgeous, the mesquito's weren't. The kids got eaten alive even though we doused them with bug spray. Jared even got a few bites and he never gets bitten. We felt so bad for them, but they didn't seem to mind them too much!

The trip to the lake is kind of a Taylor family reunion. Jared's Uncle Scott and his family always come and so does Great Grandpa Taylor. Great Grandpa Taylor (Jared's grandpa) has and has had several old boats that he likes to bring to the lake. He can hardly walk, let alone get in and out of a boat, but each year he has to bring a boat. So, this year he comes floating in with a jet ski pulling him because his boat wouldn't start. He finally got his boat started and was off to cruise around the lake. We were watching him from the shore and all of a sudden no one can see Grandpa in the boat. So, we all think he has gone overboard. Someone rushes out on the jet ski only to find that he is laying down inside the boat relaxing. Anyway, everyone just rolls their eyes and gets a good laugh out of him. He won't stop until the day he dies! He is a "one of a kind."

Grandpa brought his four wheeler to the lake this year since we didn't camp on the Sandy beach. We can ride the four wheeler right over to Jared's parents house. They live really close to the lake. The kids loved it! Garet loves to "drive" and go really "fast". So, do you think we could fit anymore kids on this four wheeler?

That looks like so much fun. You are so tough to go camping as far along as you are. I'm a wimp. About posting pictures: I have no idea. I just post mine and that's what happens. Beats me! Sorry, wish I was more help :(.

Thanks for the nice comment on my blog. It made me happy :). Also, can I just say that I am so glad you live so close. Camille is a lifesaver on days when Reese is bored.
